MISSION
The Sanctuary Art Center offers a peaceful and accepting environment, an alternative to the noise and chaos of the street. We offer attention to homeless youth that helps them to develop a sense of self-worth and dignity. Through art, our program allows youth to discover and express their talents and to experience success. The creative process provides a context in which youth can build safety, meaning, and purpose back into their lives; remember who they are; and move forward into productive futures.

PROGRAM OVERVIEW
The Sanctuary Art Center (SAC) is a small non-profit art studio serving homeless youth ages 13-25. SAC creates a safe, warm, and calm environment for creativity and discovery through the use of artistic media, such as pottery, stained glass, painting, beading and drawing. SAC provides street-involved youth a place of peace and contemplation removed from the noise and chaos of the street, as well as a chance for youth to experience praise, recognition and achievement for their artwork. Through collaborative efforts with the community, SAC offers young people who think they have no future the possibility to feel good about themselves while developing healthy relationships with caring adults.
